Unpopular opinion. Bitcoin (BTC) is just a digital version of gold. Not an actual currency. The fees alone make it useless for small transactions. Therefore, it's only real use now is as a store of value or investment. It is no longer the "peer to peer digital currency" Satoshi envisioned. Only a message signed by the founders blocks will convince me otherwise.
Just spent the last few hours watching NASA shoot a group of people into space. That will never get old for me. It will always be exciting to see it happening. Space flight is absolutely the pinnacle of modern physics and math at the moment. That it is becoming more and more accessible with each year is truly amazing.
Pretty certain the election has not yet been certified. So Joe Biden is *NOT* yet the President Elect. So the only ones pushing that story are the media. Which means this is the first time in US history the MEDIA has decided and announced who the president is before the election results are even certified.
I call that a slippery slope.
The 2020 US Presidential Election will go down in history as the most corrupted and dishonest in history. It blows my mind that the Biden supporters aren't as pissed off about it as everyone else is.
Literally so anxious about the election I feel like throwing up. Have had to turn off all the feeds. I think the Dems are going to get away with stealing the election and the media is absolutely complicit.
If you haven't listened to/watched Glenn Greenwald on the Joe Rogan Podcast, you really need to do so. I think it's probably one of the best, and most honest, discussions about the state of Journalism today.
STOP calling them protests. They're RIOTS targetting innocent business owners. Looting is not a protest, it's theft. Protest doesn't involve violence.
So the #ElectionNZ results are pretty astonishing. The result is a little unfortunate, but I get it. I am more fcused on the referendum results though. I think those were more important than the General Election itself. Won't know those results till the end of the month unfortunately.
I have deleted and all social apps owned by the "Big Tech" of Silicon Valley. This includes Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Youtube. If people want to contact me, they can do so on Telegram, or via Minds and Parler.
I unsubscribed from Wikimedia's mailing lists today. Despite having given for 6 months out of the past 12, the only emails I ever get are them begging for even more money. I'm sorry, but I already give more than I feel I use on the site.
How about instead of being so obnoxious with the begging, you just accept that you need ads and stick a single banner at the bottom or top of the site. You know, in the same place you're constantly putting those obnoxiously loud boxes begging for donations? I'm sure pretty much everyone would prefer a text ad or two over the constant bullying and guilt trips. Especially those of us that do actually donate.
